17 apps in the notch
Everything, a hover away.
Move the pointer to the notch and it opens, with a tab for each app: music and lyrics, timers, your calendar, a shelf for files, your clipboard, notes, and even a terminal.
ZincWolf Island open beneath the menu bar, with a tab for each of its apps. Now Playing is showing: Artwork that glows, a scrubber and controls, for Music, Spotify or a video in your browser.

Beside the notch
Little signs, right where you look.
When something changes, Island shows it beside the notch for a moment, then gets out of the way. Each sign has its own switch.
Volume and brightness
A level beside the notch as you change them. macOS still shows its own, too.
Caps Lock
A glance when it turns on or off, so you never type a line in capitals by mistake.
Microphone and camera
A dot while either is in use, kept beside music or a timer, never hidden.
Connectivity
A word when the connection drops, and when Wi-Fi joins again.
Screen recording
A steady red dot while a screen recorder is open, so a recording left running is hard to forget.
Focus
A glance when a Focus turns on or off, with its own symbol.
And the live activities: what’s playing, a timer counting down, charging, a download, AirPods connecting and your next meeting, beside the notch while they matter.
Ready-made sets
Start from a set that fits.
Pick one or more when Island first opens, or any time in Settings. A set turns its apps on and the rest off, and every app keeps its own switch.
Everyday: music, timers, your battery and what’s next. Home, Now Playing, Lyrics, Timer, Battery, Up Next, Shelf, Downloads and Devices. Beside the notch: Volume and brightness · Connectivity · Caps Lock · Microphone, camera and Focus.
Works with other ZincWolf apps
Every ZincWolf app, one Shelf.
Have another ZincWolf app, like ZincWolf Dock? What they have in common, they share: your files, timers, notes and more are the same in the notch and in the Dock. Each app works fully on its own.
A Mac desktop with ZincWolf Island and ZincWolf Dock. The same five-minute timer counts down beside the notch and in the Dock.
One Shelf
A file dropped on the notch is on the Dock’s Shelf too, and the other way round.
The same timers
Start one in the Dock and it counts down beside the notch. It rings once, in one app.
The same notes
Write in the notch, read it in the Dock. Saved as you type, in both.
Clipboard pins
What you pin in one is pinned in the other. Your clipboard’s history stays in each app’s memory.
Keep Awake
Turn it on in any of them and your Mac stays awake, until you turn it off or quit the last one.
Recent colors
A color picked in the Dock is waiting in the notch’s Color Picker.
Privacy
Yours, and only yours.
It stays on your Mac.
Island shows what macOS already has: what’s playing, your calendar, your battery. There’s no account, no tracking and no history kept of what you do.
Only Lyrics goes online.
To show a song’s words, Lyrics asks LRCLIB, a free lyrics library, for the title, artist and length of what’s playing. Nothing else leaves your Mac.
It looks only when you do.
The camera is on only while Mirror is open, and nothing is recorded. The clipboard never keeps passwords, and Island never asks for your location.

$19.99, once, the same as ZincWolf Dock. Every 1.x update is free, there’s no subscription and no account, and a license is for one Mac. It’s sold directly from zincwolf.app, with a full refund within 14 days if it isn’t for you.
ZincWolf Island needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later. It’s made for MacBooks with a notch, where the island grows right out of it. On a Mac or display without a notch, it’s a small black pill at the top center of the screen that does all the same things.
Seventeen apps, each with its own tab: Home, Now Playing, Lyrics, Timer, Battery, Up Next, Shelf, Clipboard, Notes, Terminal, AI Usage, Color Picker, Keep Awake, Mirror, Downloads, Devices and Stats. Beside the notch it shows what’s live, like the song that’s playing or a timer counting down, and little signs when something changes: volume and brightness, Caps Lock, the microphone and camera, Focus, your connection and screen recording. Switch on only the ones you want, or start from a ready-made set.
Any player your Mac’s Control Center knows: Music, Spotify, and a video playing in Safari or Chrome. Lyrics shows the words of the song in time with it, and if you like, the line being sung under the notch while you work.
No. It stays the size of the notch until something’s live, opens only when you rest the pointer on it or click it, and closes when you move away. Opening it never takes the keyboard from the app you’re in: only a note, the Clipboard’s search or the Terminal does, when you click into it. It stays beside full-screen apps too.
No. Island shows the new level beside the notch, and macOS still shows its own. It never stops or hides any part of macOS.
Yes, and each works fully on its own. ZincWolf apps on the same Mac share what they have in common: with ZincWolf Dock, the Shelf’s files, clipboard pins, notes, timers, Keep Awake and recent colors are the same in the notch and in the Dock. A file dropped on the notch is on the Dock’s Shelf, and a timer started in the Dock counts down beside the notch.
No. It shows what macOS already has, on your Mac, and keeps no history of what you do. The one thing it asks the internet for is lyrics: to show a song’s words, Lyrics sends its title, artist and length to LRCLIB, a free lyrics library. The camera is on only while Mirror is open, and nothing is recorded. The clipboard never keeps passwords, AI Usage reads only the usage figures your AI tools keep on your Mac, and Island never asks for your location.
Some of what it does, like showing what any app is playing and running your own shell in the Terminal, isn’t allowed in the Mac App Store, so ZincWolf sells it directly, as it does ZincWolf Dock.

A lot can happen in a notch.
Music, timers, your day and your files, in the notch you already have. Available now, for $19.99 once.
